Gourmet Grilled Cheese with Greens
Stacked to perfection! Dive into this crispy, melty stack of heaven where every bite is a blend of creamy cheese and crisp greens. 🍞✨🧀
Ingredients:
4 slices of artisan bread
4 slices of mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons of soft goat cheese
1/4 cup of fresh arugula
2 tablespoons of mayonnaise or aioli
2 tablespoons of butter
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. This will be the outside of the sandwich that grills to a golden brown.
Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise or aioli on the inside of each slice of bread.
Place two slices of bread, butter side down, on a skillet over medium heat.
On each slice, add one slice of mozzarella, followed by a sprinkle of fresh arugula, dollops of goat cheese, and then another slice of mozzarella.
Season with salt and pepper.
Top with the remaining bread slices, butter side up.
Grill the sandwich for about 3-4 minutes on one side, or until the bread is toasted and golden brown.
Carefully flip the sandwich over and continue grilling until the other side is toasted and the cheese is melted.
Remove from the skillet and let sit for a minute before cutting.
