Baked Beans & Ground Beef Casserole
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1 (28 oz) can baked beans (or your favorite variety)
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup BBQ sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for topping)
1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Cook the Ground Beef: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is softened, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
Add the Sauce Ingredients: Stir in the baked beans, ketchup, BBQ sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix everything well and let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes to combine the flavors.
Assemble the Casserole: Pour the beef and bean mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
Add Toppings: If you're using cheese and breadcrumbs, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the casserole. Then add the breadcrumbs for a crispy topping, if desired.
Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the casserole is heated through.
Serve: Let the casserole cool slightly before serving. Enjoy this hearty, comforting dish with your favorite side!
