Lemon Cream Cheese Bread
Ingredients:
For the bread:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp lemon zest
- ½ cup milk
For the cream cheese layer:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
For the glaze:
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tbsp lemon juice
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. In a large bowl, beat softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
5. Stir in lemon juice and lemon zest.
6. Alternately add the flour mixture and milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
7. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, and egg until smooth.
8. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the batter.
9. Pour the remaining batter over the cream cheese layer and smooth the top.
10. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
11. While the bread cools, prepare the glaze by whisking powdered sugar and lemon juice together until smooth.
12. Drizzle glaze over the cooled bread before serving.

Tips:
