Tuna Melt Sandwich
Ingredients:
- 1 (12-ounce) can tuna, drained
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup chopped celery
- 1/4 cup chopped red onion
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 slices of bread (your choice)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: 1/4 cup sliced pickles or relish
Instructions:
1. In a medium bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, chopped celery, chopped red onion, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Mix well and season with salt and pepper to taste.
2. Preheat a skillet over medium heat. While the skillet is heating, butter one side of each slice of bread.
3. Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet. Spoon half of the tuna mixture evenly onto each slice.
4. Top each with the remaining cheddar cheese and place the other two slices of bread on top, buttered side up.
5. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until the bottom is golden brown. Carefully flip the sandwiches and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the other side is golden and the cheese is melted.
6. Remove from the skillet, slice in half, and serve warm.
