Apple Pie Cinnamon Rolls 🍏
Ingredients:

For the Dough:

1 cup warm milk

2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup melted unsalted butter

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon salt

4 cups all-purpose flour

For the Filling:

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 medium apples (peeled, cored, and diced)

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

For the Icing:

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon milk (if needed for consistency)

Directions:

In a large bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.

Add melted butter, eggs, and salt. Stir in flour gradually and knead until smooth and elastic (about 10 minutes).

Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Make the filling:
4. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add apples, lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook for 5–7 minutes until apples are soft and the mixture is thick. Let cool.

Roll out dough into a 20x14-inch rectangle. Spread the apple filling evenly over the dough. Sprinkle with nuts if using.

Roll up from the long side and slice into 12 rolls. Place in a greased baking dish.

Cover and let rise again for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

Bake for 25–30 minutes, until golden brown.

Make the icing:
9. Beat cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until creamy. Add a splash of milk if needed for smoothness.
10. Spread over warm rolls and enjoy!
