This isnβt your average Salisbury steak β itβs loaded! Juicy, seasoned beef patties stuffed and topped with creamy mashed potatoes, melty cheddar, and finished with savory brown gravy. Comfort food elevated. Letβs make it happen π
π Ingredients:
For the Steak Patties:
2 lbs ground beef
Β½ small onion, finely chopped
Β½ green bell pepper, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 egg
Β½ cup breadcrumbs
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
For the Filling & Topping:
2 cups mashed potatoes (made ahead & seasoned to taste)
1Β½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Fresh or dried parsley (optional, for garnish)
For the Gravy:
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
2 cups beef broth
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Salt & pepper to taste
π₯ Instructions:
Prep Patties:
In a large bowl, mix together all the steak patty ingredients. Divide into equal portions and form thick patties with a slight dip in the middle (like a meat "bowl").
Stuff & Bake:Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). Place patties on a baking sheet or in a casserole dish. Fill each one with mashed potatoes and top with shredded cheddar.
Bake:
Cover with foil and bake for 20β25 minutes. Remove foil and bake uncovered another 10β15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly, and meat is fully cooked.
Make the Gravy:While patties bake, melt butter in a skillet. Add flour and whisk to make a roux (about 1β2 minutes). Slowly pour in beef broth, whisking constantly. Stir in Worcestershire, salt, and pepper. Simmer until thickened.
Serve:
Plate the Salisbury steaks, drizzle with that rich gravy, sprinkle a little parsley on top, and serve with warm dinner rolls or croissants like in the pic. π₯π₯
π Pro Tip:Use garlic mashed potatoes or mix in chives for an extra flavor punch. Want it spicy? Toss in a little pepper jack with the cheddar. π£
