Classic Hummus Recipe 🧆🌿
This creamy, flavourful hummus is perfect as a snack, spread, or dip. It's quick, easy, and packed with goodness—ideal for serving with pita, crudités, or even as a sandwich filling.
Ingredients:
🥒 Chickpeas (garbanzo beans): 1 can (400g), drained and rinsed
🧴 Olive oil: 2 tbsp, plus extra for drizzling
🧄 Garlic: 1-2 cloves, minced
🍋 Lemon: 1, juiced
🧂 Salt: ½ tsp, or to taste
🌿 Tahini (sesame paste): 2 tbsp
🧊 Ice cubes: 2-3 (to make the hummus extra smooth)
🌶️ Ground cumin: ½ tsp (optional)
🥄 Paprika: ½ tsp, for garnish (optional)
🌱 Fresh parsley: A few sprigs, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Method:
🧆 Place the chickpeas in a food processor, along with the tahini, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and cumin (if using).
🍋 Pulse the ingredients together until smooth, adding a splash of olive oil to help it along.
🧊 Add ice cubes one at a time and blend until the hummus becomes creamy and smooth. You can add a little water if it’s too thick.
🧴 Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt, lemon juice, or garlic as needed.
🌿 Transfer the hummus to a bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and garnish with paprika and fresh parsley.
