French Breakfast Puffs – Soft, Sweet, and Covered in Cinnamon Sugar! 🍓
Ingredients:
For the Muffins:
1/3 cup shortening (or softened unsalted butter)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 cup whole milk
For the Coating:
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions:
1️⃣ Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease muffin tin.
2️⃣ Cream shortening (or butter) and sugar.
3️⃣ Add the egg and mix.
4️⃣ In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. Gradually add to wet ingredients with milk.
5️⃣ Fill muffin tin with batter and bake for 15-18 minutes.
6️⃣ Combine melted butter, sugar, and cinnamon.
7️⃣ Once muffins cool slightly, dip into cinnamon sugar.
8️⃣ Serve warm!
