Cranberry & Cream Cheese Puff Pastry Blossoms
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup cranberry sauce
- Zest of 1/2 an orange
- 1 tbsp honey (optional)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and cut into 4 equal squares.
3. In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with the orange zest and honey until smooth.
4. Spread a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture onto the center of each pastry square.
5. Add a dollop of cranberry sauce on top of the cream cheese.
6. Fold the corners of each pastry square towards the center, pinching the edges gently to form a blossom shape.
7. Brush the beaten egg over the pastry edges to give them a golden finish.
8. Place the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
9. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until the puff pastry is golden and puffed.
10. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.
