The PET Milk brand is one of the original brands of evaporated milk, dating back to 1885. The "PET" trademark is owned by Eagle who still produce the PET Milk brand of evaporated milk.
Pet Evaporated Milk and Kool-Aid -1963 Advertisement
1 12 oz. can evaporated milk, chilled
2/3 c sugar
1 pg. unsweetened Kool-Aid (any flavor you like)
Pour evaporate milk into a mixing bowl, and chill in freezer until almost frozen, with ice crystals around the edge of bowl. Chill beaters and then beat at high speed until fluffy. Combine sugar with Kool- Aid and gradually add to milk. Beat until very stiff. Freeze in a 2 1/2 quart container until firm. Serve in ice cream cone, in a pie shell, or just a scoop in a bowl.
