Calories: Approximately 120 per cookie
Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup raisins or chocolate chips (optional)
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
3. Add the eggs one at a time to the mixture, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
5. Fold in the rolled oats, along with the raisins or chocolate chips if you are using them.
6. Using a tablespoon, drop rounded dollops of the dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the cookies are lightly golden.
8. Once baked, let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes, then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
