Ingredients:
- 1 package of crescent roll dough (or puff pastry)
- 8 slices of deli ham
- 8 slices of cheese (such as Swiss or cheddar)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Optional: mustard or mayo for spreading
- Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Prepare the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough on a lightly floured surface. If using puff pastry, roll out to about 1/4-inch thickness.

3. Cut the Dough: If using crescent rolls, separate the dough into triangles along the perforations. For puff pastry, cut into squares or triangles.

4. Assemble:
- Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on the wider end of each triangle.
- Add a small smear of mustard or mayo if desired.
- Roll the triangles from the wide end to the point, enclosing the filling.

5. Prepare for Baking: Place the rolled croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

6. Egg Wash: Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over the tops of the croissants for a nice golden color.
