Brownie Cake
Ingredients:
1/2 cup (115g) butter, melted
1 cup (200g) sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking powder
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8-inch cake pan.
2. In a bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
3. Add cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix until just combined.
4. Pour into the pan and bake for 20–25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
5. Let cool completely in the pan.
Ganache Topping
Ingredients:
1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
4 oz (115g) semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped
Instructions:
1. Heat cream in a small saucepan until just simmering (do not boil).
2. Pour over the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
3. Let sit for 2 minutes, then stir until smooth and glossy.
4. Let the ganache cool slightly, then pour over the cooled brownie cake.
5. Chill for 30 minutes for a firm ganache or serve warm for a gooey finish.
