Ham and Cheese Croissants
Ingredients:
4 croissants
8 slices of deli ham
8 slices of Swiss cheese (or your preferred cheese)
1 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional)
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
1 tbsp poppy seeds or sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Prepare the Croissants:
Slice each croissant horizontally without cutting all the way through.
3. Assemble the Filling:
Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard inside each croissant if desired. Place two slices of ham and two slices of cheese inside each croissant.
4. Seal and Top:
Gently press the croissants closed. Brush the tops with the beaten egg and sprinkle poppy seeds or sesame seeds on top for added texture and flavor.
5. Bake:
Arrange the croissants on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the croissants are golden brown.
6. Serve:
Serve warm as a perfect breakfast or snack.
