Decadent Caramel Brownie Cheesecake
Ingredients:
- For the brownie layer:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- For the cheesecake layer:
- 16 oz (450g) cream cheese, softened
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- For the caramel swirl:
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
2. Prepare the brownie layer by mixing melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla in a bowl until smooth.
3. Sift together cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder, then fold into the wet ingredients until just combined.
4. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading evenly.
5. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy.
6. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then blend in vanilla and sour cream.
7. Carefully pour the cheesecake batter over the brownie layer.
8. Drizzle caramel sauce over the cheesecake batter and gently swirl with a knife to create a marbled effect.
9. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until the center is set but slightly jiggly.
10. Allow to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before slicing and serving.
