Ultimate Fudgy Brownies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup (2 sticks / 226g) unsalted butter
- 2 ¼ cups (450g) granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup (120g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks (optional, but recommended)
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
2. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.
3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
4. Sift together the cocoa powder, flour, and salt in a separate bowl.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
6. Fold in the chocolate chips or chunks if using.
7. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pan and spread it out smoothly.
8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
9. Allow to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
