🇫🇷 Pork Pâté Spread (Rillettes de Porc) 🍞🥂
A rich and rustic French pork spread—perfect on toast with pickles or served as an elegant appetizer with crusty bread.
Ingredients:
500g pork shoulder or belly, cut into chunks
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 small onion, chopped
1 bay leaf
1 sprig thyme
200ml water or white wine
2 tbsp pork fat or butter
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1️⃣ In a pot, combine pork, garlic, onion, herbs, and liquid. Season well.
2️⃣ Cover and simmer on low heat for 2.5 to 3 hours until meat is fall-apart tender.
3️⃣ Remove herbs, shred the meat finely with forks, and mix in fat to make it spreadable.
4️⃣ Pack into ramekins, cover, and chill until firm.
