🍎 Fire & Ice Candy Apples 🍏
Ingredients:
6 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
2 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 1/4 cups water
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
A pinch of salt
Red food coloring (for Fire apples)
Blue food coloring (for Ice apples)
White candy melts (for flames and ice decorations)
Red edible glitter (for Fire apples)
Blue edible glitter (for Ice apples)
White edible pearl sprinkles
Wooden skewers or candy sticks
Directions:

1. Prepare the Apples:

Wash and dry your apples thoroughly, removing any wax coating if necessary.
Insert wooden skewers or candy sticks firmly into the tops of the apples, ensuring they're secure.
Set aside on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
2. Make the Candy Coating:

In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, water, corn syrup, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
Allow the mixture to boil without stirring until it reaches the hard crack stage (300Β°F/150Β°C). Use a candy thermometer to monitor.
3. Create Fire & Ice Candy Coatings:

Once the candy reaches the desired temperature, divide it into two separate bowls.
For Fire apples, add red food coloring and stir to create a vibrant red color.
For Ice apples, add blue food coloring to the other bowl and mix until smooth.
4. Dip and Decorate:

Dip half of the apples into the red candy mixture, making sure they’re fully coated. Immediately sprinkle red edible glitter over the top while the candy is still sticky to create the fiery effect.
Dip the other half of the apples into the blue candy mixture and sprinkle blue edible glitter over the top for a frosty, icy look. Add white pearl sprinkles to give a snow-like effect.
5. Create the Flame and Ice Decorations:

Melt the white candy melts according to the package instructions.
For Fire apples, use a spoon or piping bag to drizzle the melted candy in flame-like shapes on the tops of the red apples. You can even create the flame shapes on a sheet of parchment paper first, allow them to harden, and then attach them to the tops of the apples.
For Ice apples, drizzle the white candy melts in flowing patterns to resemble icicles and ice flows on the tops of the blue apples.
6. Cool and Serve:

Allow the apples to cool completely at room temperature until the candy and decorations have hardened.
Once set, your Fire & Ice Candy Apples are ready to serve!

Tips:

For a dramatic look, use a contrasting piping bag for the flame and ice decorations, making them more pronounced.
To create extra intricate flames or icicles, you can add edible luster dust or additional shimmer on the decorations for more depth.
