Crockpot BBQ Chicken

8 chicken thighs, legs or mixed pieces
4 tablespoons butter, cut in 8 pieces
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups BBQ sauce, homemade or your favorite store bought brand

Lightly spray the crockpot with nonstick cooking spray. Season your chicken with onion powder, celery salt, salt and pepper. Add the chicken to the crockpot. Pour one cup bbq sauce over the chicken. Turn the chicken over a time of two to coat all sides. Lay a pat of butter on each piece of chicken.
Cover and cook until the chicken is tender, 5 hours on low or 3 to 4 hours on high.
To brown chicken if desired.
Adjust your oven rack to about 8 inches beneath the broiler, and turn your oven on broil.
Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil.
Place the cooked chicken on the prepared baking sheet.
Brush the chicken on both sides with the remaining cup of BBQ sauce.
Broil the chicken until caramelized, about 3 - 4 minutes per side minutes, flipping the chicken halfway through broiling.
