Fudgy Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1 ½ cups granulated sugar
½ cup brown sugar (packed)
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
2 cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
Optional: ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Cream butter and sugars together until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
Add eggs and vanilla, mix until smooth.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Don’t overmix.
Stir in chocolate chips (and nuts if using).
Scoop dough (about 2 tbsp per cookie) onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
Bake for 9-11 minutes until edges are set but centers look slightly underbaked (they'll firm up as they cool).
Let cool on the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
