A traditional pastry from the Basque region, filled with either pastry cream or cherry jam, wrapped in a buttery crust. Itβs a true regional treasure! β€οΈπ
Ingredients:
β’ 250 g flour
β’ 125 g butter
β’ 100 g sugar
β’ 2 eggs
β’ 1 tsp baking powder
β’ 300 g pastry cream (or cherry jam)
Instructions:
1οΈβ£ Cream butter and sugar, then add eggs.
2οΈβ£ Mix in flour and baking powder until dough forms.
3οΈβ£ Chill dough for 30 minutes.
4οΈβ£ Roll out and line a tart pan with half the dough.
5οΈβ£ Fill with pastry cream or jam.
6οΈβ£ Cover with remaining dough, seal edges, and score lattice.
7οΈβ£ Bake at 180Β°C (350Β°F) for 35β40 minutes.
8οΈβ£ Cool before serving. π
