Easy English Toffee
📋 Ingredients
• 1 cup unsalted butter
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 1/4 cup water
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
• 1 cup chocolate chips
🍽️ Directions
1. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
2. Add sugar and water; stir until dissolved.
3. Bring to a boil and cook until the mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
4. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla and nuts.
5. Pour onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
6. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top; let melt, then spread evenly.
7. Allow to cool before breaking into pieces.
