🍰👑 Just like its namesake, this Strawberry Cream Napoleon is on a mission to dominate the dessert empire. Victory never tasted so sweet! 🍓✨

Ingredients:

Puff Pastry:

1 sheet of puff pastry
1 egg, lightly beaten
4 tablespoons of sugar, divided equally into brown and granulated

Whipped Cream:

2 cups of heavy cream, cold
3/4 cup of powdered sugar
1 tablespoon of pure vanilla extract

For Assembly:

Fresh strawberries, sliced and sweetened with sugar if desired

Instructions:

Puff Pastry:

Sprinkle the puff pastry with the mixed sugars and roll gently with a rolling pin to press the sugar into the pastry.
Coat the pastry lightly with the beaten egg to give it a golden sheen upon baking.
Lay the pastry on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes or until puffed and golden.
After baking, let the pastry cool, then trim the edges to expose the layers. Cut it into even squares for the Napoleons.

Whipped Cream:

Chill your mixing bowl and beaters in the refrigerator for 20 minutes before starting.
Beat the cold heavy cream until it begins to thicken and peaks start to hold.
Gradually add in the powdered sugar and vanilla, continuing to beat until the mixture is smooth and stiff.

Assembling the Napoleon:

Place a square of cooled puff pastry on a plate.
Pipe or spoon a generous layer of the whipped cream on top of the pastry.
Arrange a layer of sliced strawberries on the cream.
Repeat layering if desired, stacking another pastry square, more cream, and strawberries.
Top with the final piece of pastry.
Just before serving, sift powdered sugar over the top and garnish with a few fresh strawberry slices.
