Sure, I can pay 3.50$ for enough flavored cream cheese for 2 bagels at Any bagel store. Or I can buy cream cheese bloch for 1.50 at the local market and go home and make 3 times as much for half the price myself.
Recipe for Garlic and Chive Cream cheese: I throw the cream cheese in container and first add 5 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 or 3 tablespoons of milk to soften it, make it creamy, and its easier to mix. Add more oil or milk if you like it creamier than suggested. Then I add some freshly cut parsley and chives. Next is 3 finely cut cloves of garlic. For the dry ingredients, I add a 1/2 a teaspoon of garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and a little extra white pepper. It come out excellent 👍👍.
I have made roasted red pepper and onion in the past and that is a real winner. Will post that recipe next
