Steak and Eggs with Sautéed Mushrooms

Ingredients:

2 steaks (such as ribeye, sirloin, or filet mignon)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
4 large eggs
1 cup mushrooms, sliced (such as cremini, button, or shiitake)
2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for sautéing mushrooms)
1 clove garlic, minced
Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Cracked black pepper, for garnish
Instructions:

Prepare the Steak:

Season the steaks generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil or butter.
When the pan is hot, add the steaks and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust the time for your preferred doneness.
Once cooked, remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest for 5 minutes while you prepare the eggs and mushrooms.
Fry the Eggs:

In the same pan or a separate skillet, add a bit of butter or oil and heat over medium-low heat.
Crack the eggs into the pan, being careful not to break the yolks. Fry the eggs sunny-side-up for about 2-3 minutes, or until the whites are set but the yolks are still runny. Season with salt and pepper.
Remove from the pan and set aside.
Sauté the Mushrooms:

In the same pan, add 2 tablespoons of butter and sauté the sliced mushrooms over medium heat until they become tender and slightly caramelized (about 4-5 minutes).
Add minced garlic during the last minute and cook for another 30 seconds, stirring constantly.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Plate the Dish:

Slice the rested steaks into strips and arrange them on a plate.
Place the sunny-side-up eggs on top of or beside the steak.
Spoon the sautéed mushrooms over the steak and eggs.
Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and cracked black pepper for extra flavor.
Serve:

Serve hot, and enjoy this classic, hearty breakfast or brunch dish with a side of toasted bread or roasted potatoes for extra comfort.
This steak and eggs with sautéed mushrooms offer rich, savory flavors, making it an indulgent start to your day or a satisfying brunch treat!
