These baked apple fritters are a lighter twist on the classic, with all the comforting flavors of cinnamon, apples, and a sweet glaze. Perfect for cozy mornings or an afternoon treat!
Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup milk
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup apple, peeled and diced (about 1 medium apple)
2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
For the Glaze:
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1β2 tbsp milk
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Directions
Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Prepare the Batter: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. In a separate bowl, mix the milk, egg, vanilla, and melted butter. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the diced apples.
Scoop the Batter: Using a spoon or small ice cream scoop, place mounds of batter (about 2 tablespoons each) onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each fritter.
Bake: Bake for 12β15 minutes, or until the fritters are golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Make the Glaze: While the fritters are baking, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla in a small bowl until smooth.
Glaze the Fritters: Let the fritters cool slightly, then drizzle or dip each one in the glaze while theyβre still warm for that extra sweetness.
