Yeast Rolls Recipe
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup milk
3 tbsp butter
4 tbsp vegetable shortening
3 tbsp honey
5 cups all purpose flour
1/3 cup sugar
2 1/4 tsp Instant yeast
Salt I used 2 tsp
1 egg
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Mix well.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the warm milk, butter, shortening, honey and egg.
Pour the milk mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir until a sticky dough forms.
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap. Allow it to rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until it doubles in size.
Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air.
Divide the dough into equal portions and shape them into rolls. You can make round rolls or shape them into knots or crescents.
Place the rolls on a greased baking sheet or a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Make sure to leave some space between the rolls for them to expand.
Cover the rolls with a clean kitchen towel and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes until they have doubled in size.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Once the rolls have risen again, brush the tops with melted butter. This will give them a golden and glossy finish.
If desired, sprinkle the rolls with sea salt, sesame seeds, or poppy seeds for added flavor and decoration.
Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
Remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool slightly on a wire rack.
Serve the Homemade Yeast Rolls warm with butter or your favorite spreads.
