🌿 TUNA PUFF PASTRY BRAID 🌿
This Tuna Braid is flaky, golden baked with tuna, potatoes, olives, onions and feta cheese - You will love it!!
RECIPE - Serves 3
Ingredients 🛒
1 Large Potato
1 Large Onion, sliced in half moon shape
250g/8.8oz Can Tuna, drained
4 Tbsp Herb/Spreadable Cream Cheese
75g/2.6oz Feta Cheese, diced
Sliced Green Olives
3 Tbsp Chopped Fresh Parsley
Salt & Pepper
1 Round Sheet Puff Pastry
1 Beaten Egg for eggwash
Sesame and Poppy Seeds
Method:
Preheat oven to 180C/350F.
Peel and dice potatoes. Cook in salted boiling water but keep slightly undercooked. Drain and set aside to cool.
Saute the onions in a little olive oil until golden brown. Leave to cool.
Lay out your puff pastry sheet. In the center with a width of 10cm, spread the cream cheese leaving a 4cm border at the top and bottom.
Top with a single layer of diced potatoes and season with salt and pepper.
Scatter the onions on top of potatoes followed by the tuna, feta cheese, olives and parsley.
From the filling outwards, cut 9 slits from both sides of the pastry, (start a little further up from bottom end filling).
Fold over the bottom and top pieces of pastry and continue with the strips on each side overlapping each other.
Brush the pastry with beaten egg and scatter sesame and poppy seeds on top.
Bake in oven for about 45 minutes, until pastry is golden brown.
Remove from oven and garnish with chopped parsley.
