Classic Homemade Beef Lasagna
Recipe:
Ingredients:
12 lasagna noodles
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion (diced)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
2 cups marinara or tomato sauce
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp Italian seasoning
2 cups ricotta cheese
1 egg
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
Salt & pepper to taste
Olive oil for cooking
Instructions:
Cook the Meat Sauce:
Heat olive oil in a skillet, add onion and garlic, and sauté until fragrant.
Add ground beef, cook until browned, then drain fat.
Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 10–15 minutes.
Prepare the Ricotta Mix:
In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, a pinch of salt, pepper, and a bit of parmesan. Mix well.
Boil the Noodles:
Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions, then drain and lay flat.
Assemble the Lasagna:
In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of sauce.
Add noodles, then a layer of ricotta mix, meat sauce, and mozzarella.
Repeat layers, finishing with sauce, mozzarella, and parmesan on top.
Bake:
Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes.
Remove foil and bake another 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Rest & Serve:
Let sit for 10 minutes before slicing to serve.
