Cheesy Garlic Butter Corn on the Cob

Ingredients:

Ears of corn, husks and silks removed
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or mozzarella, pepper jack, etc.)
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)
Instructions:

Grilling Method:

Prepare the corn: Remove husks and silks from the corn.
Make the garlic butter: In a small bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, shredded cheese, parsley (optional), salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (optional). Stir until fully combined.
Wrap the corn: Lay each ear of corn on a large piece of aluminum foil. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the corn. Wrap the foil tightly around the corn.
Grill: Preheat the grill to medium heat. Place the wrapped corn on the grill and cook for 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until the corn is tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve: Remove the foil packets from the grill and let them cool slightly before serving.
Boiling Method:

Prepare the corn: Remove husks and silks from the corn.
Boil the corn: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the corn and cook for 5-8 minutes, or until tender-crisp.
Make the garlic butter: While the corn is boiling, prepare the garlic butter mixture as described in the grilling method (step 2).
Dress the corn: Drain the corn and return it to the pot. Add the garlic butter mixture and toss until the corn is evenly coated.
Serve: Serve immediately.
Tips and Variations:

Cheese: Feel free to try different cheeses like mozzarella, pepper jack, or a combination of your favorites.
Herbs: Use fresh herbs such as basil, thyme, or oregano in place of or alongside the parsley.
Spice: Adjust the red pepper flakes to your preferred spice level, or add a bit of cayenne pepper for extra heat.
Lemon/Lime: For added flavor, squeeze fresh lemon or lime juice over the corn before serving.
Compound Butter: You can make the garlic butter in advance and store it in the fridge. Let it soften before using.
Serving: Serve as a side dish at barbecues, picnics, or with any meal.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 15-20 minutes (grilling) or 5-8 minutes (boiling)
Total Time: Varies
Servings: Based on the number of ears of corn
