White German Chocolate Cheesecake Cake

Ingredients

For the Cake Layers:

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

4 large egg whites

1 tbsp vanilla extract

1 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup sour cream

1 cup sweetened shredded coconut (optional)

For the Cheesecake Layer:

16 oz (2 blocks) cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1/2 cup sour cream

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tbsp all-purpose flour

For the White Chocolate Frosting:

1 cup white chocolate chips, melted and cooled

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

3–4 cups powdered sugar

1/4 cup heavy cream (as needed for consistency)

1 tsp vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

For the Topping:

1/2 cup chopped toasted pecans

1/2 cup chopped toasted almonds

White chocolate curls or drizzle (optional)

Instructions

1. Make the Cheesecake Layer (best if done ahead):
Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Line a springform pan with parchment paper and lightly grease it.

Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in sour cream, vanilla, and flour.

Pour into pan and bake for 35–40 minutes until set. Cool completely, then refrigerate or freeze until firm.

2. Make the Cake Layers:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a separate large bowl, cream butter, oil, and sugar until light. Add egg whites and vanilla, beat well.

Mix in buttermilk and sour cream, then add dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

Fold in coconut if using.

Divide batter between pans and bake 25–30 minutes. Cool completely.

3. Make the Frosting:
Beat butter until creamy. Add cooled melted white chocolate and beat until fluffy.

Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt. Add cream until desired consistency is reached.

4. Assemble the Cake:
Level cake layers if needed.

Place one cake layer down, spread a thin layer of frosting.

Gently place chilled cheesecake layer on top.

Add the second cake layer on top of the cheesecake.

Frost the entire cake with white chocolate frosting.

5. Decorate:
Press chopped pecans and almonds onto the top and sides.

Add white chocolate curls or drizzle over the top for extra flair.
