Luscious Vanilla Banana Walnut Cake with Creamy Layers

Ingredients:

3 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 ½ cups granulated sugar
½ cup light brown sugar
4 large ripe bananas, mashed
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 large eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans or line them with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Set aside.
In another bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Add in the mashed bananas and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Fold in the sour cream, followed by the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Gently stir in the chopped walnuts.
Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and smooth the tops.
Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Frost with your favorite vanilla buttercream or cream cheese frosting, and garnish with extra walnuts if desired.
