Butterscotch Delight
Ingredients:
For the Crust:
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
For the Cream Cheese Layer:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Butterscotch Layer:
- 1 package (3.4 oz) instant butterscotch pudding mix
- 2 cups milk
For the Topping:
- 1 cup whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
- Optional: butterscotch chips or shaved chocolate for garnish
Instructions:
1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Make the Crust:
- In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined.
- Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Bake for 8-10 minutes, then remove from the oven and let cool.
3. Prepare the Cream Cheese Layer:
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth and creamy.
- Gently fold in the whipped topping and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled crust.
4. Make the Butterscotch Layer:
- In another bowl, whisk together the instant butterscotch pudding mix and milk until smooth and thickened (about 2 minutes).
- Spread the butterscotch mixture over the cream cheese layer.
5. Add the Topping:
- Spread the remaining whipped topping over the butterscotch layer.
6. Chill:
- Refrigerate the dessert for at least 4 hours, or until set.
7. Serve:
- Before serving, garnish with butterscotch chips or shaved chocolate if desired. Cut into squares and enjoy!
