Ham and Cheese Butter Swim Biscuits 🥓🧀
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 ½ cups buttermilk
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup diced ham
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
1 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). Grease an 8x8-inch baking dish.
Melt butter and pour it into the baking dish.
Mix dry ingredients – In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Add wet ingredients – Pour in buttermilk and stir until just combined. Fold in ham and shredded cheese.
Spread dough – Gently spread the dough evenly over the melted butter in the baking dish.
Score the dough – Use a knife to lightly score the biscuit dough into squares for easy cutting after baking.
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool slightly & serve – Let sit for 5 minutes before cutting into squares.
