Marinate the Strawberries:
In a bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, ¼ cup sugar, and 1 tbsp lemon juice. Let sit for 15 minutes to release their natural juices.
Bake the Cake Layers:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
