🍏 Caramel Apple Delight Cups 🍯
Ingredients
For the Crumble Base:
1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs (from about 10 full sheets)
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 pinch of fine sea salt
For the Apple Filling:
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 cups apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and diced into ½-inch pieces
3 tablespoons light brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
For Assembly:
½ cup prepared thick caramel sauce, warmed slightly for drizzling
Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the Base: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, granulated sugar, and salt. Stir until the mixture resembles wet sand and the crumbs are evenly moistened.
Assemble the Cups: Divide the crumb mixture evenly between four serving glasses or small dessert bowls (about 6 oz each). Use the back of a spoon to press the crumbs down firmly to form a solid base. Set aside.
Sauté the Apples: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and water. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 6-8 minutes, or until the apples have softened slightly but still retain a bit of bite.
Finish the Filling: Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Allow the apple mixture to cool for 2-3 minutes.
Layer and Serve: Spoon the warm apple mixture over the prepared crumb bases. Drizzle generously with warm caramel sauce. Top with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired. Serve immediately.
