Filet Mignon with Shrimp and Lobster Cream Sauce
Ingredients
2 filet mignon steaks about 6 ounces each
8 large shrimp peeled and deveined
1 cup cooked lobster meat chopped
1 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cloves garlic minced
1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Pat steaks dry and season both sides with salt and pepper. Let rest for 10 minutes at room temperature.
2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium high heat. Add steaks and cook 3 to 4 minutes per side for medium rare or until your preferred doneness. Remove steaks and let them rest on a plate.
3. In the same skillet add butter and garlic. Cook until garlic is fragrant about 30 seconds then pour in heavy cream.
4. Stir in chopped lobster meat and thyme leaves. Cook over low heat for 2 to 3 minutes until sauce is warmed through and slightly thickened.
5. Season sauce with a pinch of salt and pepper. Add shrimp and cook for 2 minutes until shrimp turn pink and opaque.
6. Place steaks on plates and spoon the shrimp and lobster cream sauce over the top.
7. Serve right away with a side of steamed vegetables or a simple salad and enjoy a special meal at home.
