Ingredients 🛒
1 package angel food cake (or 1 prepared angel food cake) 🍰
1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix 🍮
1 1/2 cups milk 🥛
1 cup sour cream 🧑🍳
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese (softened) 🧀
1/2 cup powdered sugar 🍬
1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling 🍒
1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping (thawed) 🍫
Almond slices for garnish (optional) 🌰
Directions 🧑🍳
Prepare the Angel Food Cake:
Prepare the angel food cake according to package instructions, then let it cool completely. Once cooled, cut the cake into cubes.
Prepare the Pudding Layer:
In a bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and milk until well blended. Add the sour cream and blend until smooth. Set aside.
Make the Cream Cheese Mixture:
In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth and creamy.
Layer the Cake:
In a large serving dish, layer half of the cake cubes on the bottom. Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the cake, then half of the pudding mixture. Top with half of the cherry pie filling.
Repeat the Layers:
Repeat the layering process with the remaining ingredients, ending with the cherry pie filling on top.
Chill and Set:
Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or preferably overnight) to allow the layers to set and flavors to meld together.
Top with Whipped Topping:
Just before serving, spread the whipped topping evenly over the top. Garnish with almond slices if desired.
