Blackened Steak & Shrimp with Cajun Cream Sauce 🍤🥩
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 ribeye or sirloin steaks
1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
1 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Start by preparing your steaks. Pat the steaks dry with a paper towel and season both sides generously with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let them rest at room temperature for about 20 minutes to enhance the flavor.
2. While the steak is resting, heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Once the skillet is very hot, add the olive oil and swirl to coat the bottom.
3. Carefully place the steaks in the skillet. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, depending on your preferred doneness. Once done, remove the steaks from the skillet and allow them to rest on a plate.
4. In the same skillet, without cleaning it, lower the heat to medium. Add the butter and let it melt. Then add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
5. Toss in the shrimp and season with a sprinkle of Cajun seasoning. Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set them aside.
6. Pour in the heavy cream and Worcestershire sauce into the skillet, stirring well to combine with the remnants of the steak and shrimp. Allow the sauce to simmer for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
7. Return the shrimp to the skillet, tossing them gently in the Cajun cream sauce to coat.
8. To serve, slice the steak and place it on a plate, then top with the shrimp and a generous drizzle of the Cajun cream sauce. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley for a vibrant presentation.
