𝐃𝐎𝐄𝐒 𝐀𝐍𝐘𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐔𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐘 𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐄𝐀𝐓 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐲 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐅𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬
Ingredients:
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and cut into thick fries
- 4 white fish fillets (cod or haddock)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup cold sparkling water
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Malt vinegar, for serving
Instructions:
1. Preheat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
2. Rinse and pat dry the potato fries. Fry in batches until golden and crispy, then drain on paper towels.
3. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add sparkling water to form a smooth batter.
4. Coat fish fillets in the batter and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side.
5. Serve the fish with fries, and drizzle with malt vinegar if desired.
