Gooey Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup walnut pieces
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
6. Fold in the chocolate chips and walnut pieces evenly throughout the dough.
7. Scoop cookie dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers remain soft and gooey.
9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
