Millet Porridge with Honey-Glazed Plums
Creamy Millet Porridge with Caramelized Honey Plums
Ingredients:
1 cup millet
3 cups milk (or plant-based milk)
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons honey
4-5 ripe plums, halved and pitted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Fresh mint leaves for garnish
Directions:
Rinse the millet thoroughly under cold water.
In a medium saucepan, combine the millet, milk, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the millet is soft and has absorbed most of the milk.
While the millet is cooking, heat a skillet over medium heat. Add butter and honey, stirring until melted and bubbly.
Place the halved plums cut side down in the skillet and cook for 3-5 minutes until they are softened and slightly caramelized. Flip and cook the other side for another 2 minutes.
Once the millet is done, remove it from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and ground cinnamon.
Serve the millet porridge topped with the honey-glazed plums and garnish with fresh mint leaves.
