Cherry Rum and Coke Slushie
A sweet and fizzy frozen treat perfect for hot days or a nostalgic twist on the classic Rum and Coke.
Ingredients:
4 oz Rum
2 oz Cherry Liqueur
1/2 cup white rum (or spiced rum for a twist)
1/2 cup Coca-Cola (or sugar-free cola)
1 tablespoon lime juice
Maraschino cherries (for garnish)
Optional: A dash of grenadine for added sweetness or a deeper cherry flavor
Instructions
Prepare the Ingredients: Begin by measuring out the ice, cherry juice, rum, and lime juice. Ensure your ice is crushed or large enough for a slushie texture.
Blend the Ice and Cherry Juice: In a blender, combine the ice and cherry juice. Blend until the ice is finely crushed and the mixture becomes a smooth slush.
Add Rum and Lime Juice: Pour in the rum and lime juice, then blend for a few seconds until everything is well combined.
Add Coca-Cola: Finally, add the Coca-Cola and pulse for just a few seconds to incorporate the fizz while keeping the slushie texture.
Serve and Garnish: Pour the slushie into glasses, garnish with maraschino cherries, and enjoy! For extra flair, serve with a straw or a cocktail umbrella.
Notes
For a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the rum and add extra cherry juice or sparkling water for a fun mocktail.
Adjust the amount of rum to your liking for a stronger or lighter drink.
You can experiment with flavored rums for a more complex taste, such as coconut or pineapple rum.
