π¬ Easter Crock-Pot Candy π¬
Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Food coloring (optional, for festive colors)
Sprinkles or mini chocolate chips (for topping)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Slow Cooker
Grease the inside of your slow cooker generously with cooking spray or butter to prevent sticking. Set it to low heat and prepare the ingredients.
Step 2: Combine the Sugars and Butter
In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter in the microwave for about 1 minute. Stir in the brown sugar and granulated sugar until well combined. Add the sweetened condensed milk and mix thoroughly.
Step 3: Cook the Mixture
Transfer the sugar mixture to the slow cooker, stirring occasionally. Cook on low for 2β3 hours, or until the mixture thickens and turns a light caramel color. Be patientβthis step ensures the candy reaches the perfect consistency.
Step 4: Flavor and Color
Once the mixture is cooked, stir in the vanilla extract. If desired, divide the candy into separate bowls and add a few drops of food coloring to each portion for a fun Easter twist.
Step 5: Cool and Top
Pour the candy onto a greased baking sheet or silicone mat. Spread it out evenly with a spatula. While still warm, sprinkle with sprinkles or mini chocolate chips for added flavor and decoration. Let the candy cool completely at room temperature.
Step 6: Cut and Enjoy
Once cooled, use a sharp knife to cut the candy into bite-sized pieces. Store in an airtight container or wrap individually in plastic wrap for gifting.
