🍐 Baked Pears with Blue Cheese and Walnuts
Ingredients:
2 ripe but firm pears (Bosc or Anjou work best)
1/3 cup crumbled blue cheese (or Gorgonzola for a milder flavor)
1/4 cup chopped toasted walnuts or pecans
1 tbsp honey (plus more for drizzling)
1 tsp olive oil or melted butter
Fresh rosemary (for garnish, optional)
Pinch of ground black pepper
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Halve the pears lengthwise and scoop out the seeds/core with a spoon to create a small well for the filling. Trim the bottoms slightly so they sit flat.
Brush the cut sides of the pears with olive oil or melted butter. Place them cut-side up in the baking dish.
Stuff the center of each pear with crumbled blue cheese. Sprinkle the chopped walnuts on top.
Drizzle honey lightly over the stuffed pears. Optionally, add a pinch of pepper for contrast.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the pears are tender and the cheese is slightly golden and melty.
Garnish with a fresh rosemary sprig and an extra drizzle of honey before serving warm.
🧀 Serving Tip:
Pair these pears with a glass of dry white wine or serve as an elegant appetizer or light dessert.
