Ingredients
For the Beef Chops:
4 beef chops (bone-in or boneless, about 1-inch thick)
2 tablespoons olive oil (for searing)
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Parmesan Coating:
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese (preferably freshly grated)
1/2 cup breadcrumbs (use panko for extra crunch)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried thyme (or Italian seasoning)
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional, for added flavor)
1 egg, beaten (for binding)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Beef Chops
Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
Pat the beef chops dry with paper towels to remove any moisture, ensuring a crispy crust.
Season both sides of the beef chops with salt and pepper to taste.
2. Prepare the Parmesan Coating
In a shallow bowl, combine Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and dried thyme. Mix well.
In another shallow bowl, beat the egg.
3. Coat the Beef Chops
Dip each beef chop into the beaten egg, ensuring itβs fully coated.
Then, dredge the beef chop into the Parmesan mixture, pressing gently to coat evenly.
4. Sear the Beef Chops (Optional, for extra flavor)
Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the coated beef chops to the skillet and sear for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown. This step adds extra flavor but can be skipped if you prefer to bake the chops directly.
5. Bake the Beef Chops
Transfer the seared beef chops to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or lightly greased.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145Β°F (63Β°C) for medium-rare or until desired doneness. The crust should be golden and crispy.
If you prefer a more browned crust, switch the oven to broil for the last 2-3 minutes, but keep a close eye to prevent burning.
6. Serve & Enjoy
Let the beef chops rest for about 5 minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.
Serve the chops with your favorite sides like roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.
Tips & Variations
Extra Crispy Crust: For a double crunch, dip the beef chops in the egg and Parmesan mixture twice.
Make it Spicy: Add some red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the Parmesan mixture for some heat.
Herb Variations: Use fresh rosemary or oregano in the coating for additional herbaceous flavor.
Low-Carb Version: Use almond flour or crushed pork rinds instead of breadcrumbs for a keto-friendly version. See less
