German Chocolate Dump Cake
Ingredients:
- 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
- 1 1/2 cups chopped toasted pecans, divided
- 1 package devil's food cake mix (regular size)
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, sprinkle 1 cup of shredded coconut evenly.
3. Add 3/4 cup of the chopped toasted pecans over the coconut.
4. Sprinkle the dry devil's food cake mix evenly over the nuts.
5. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, melted butter, vanilla extract, and confectioners' sugar until smooth and creamy.
6. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cake mix layer.
7. Sprinkle the remaining 3/4 cup chopped pecans and the semisweet chocolate chips evenly on top.
8. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cream cheese mixture is set.
9. Allow to cool before serving.
