Creamy Cajun Steak Alfredo Pasta Skillet
Ingredients:
1 lb steak (ribeye or sirloin), sliced into strips
12 oz fettuccine pasta
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp butter
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 cups heavy cream
1 tbsp tomato paste
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Salt and black pepper to taste
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)
Directions:
Cook the fettuccine pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak strips and season with salt, black pepper, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and garlic powder. Cook the steak until browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness, about 4-5 minutes. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in the tomato paste and cook for 1 minute.
Pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and shredded cheddar cheese, continuing to cook until the cheese melts and the sauce becomes creamy. Adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper to taste.
Add the cooked steak and pasta to the skillet. Toss everything together until the pasta is well-coated with the creamy sauce. If you like extra heat, sprinkle with red pepper flakes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
