This is Jollibee’s copycat version of Burger Steak in mushroom gravy.
Recipe:
1 pound burger
1/2 onion diced finely
1 egg
1/4 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Oil to fry
Mushroom Gravy:
8 oz fresh mushrooms sliced (about 2 cups)
1/2 onion diced
1/2 cup salted butter
3 cups beef broth ( or 2 beef cubes in 3 cups water)
1/4 cup flour
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup water
Steps:
In a large bowl, add burger, onion, egg, flour, salt and pepper. Mix well until combined. Make 5 burger patties.
In a pan, heat 2 tablespoons oil and fry the burger till golden brown on each side. Set aside.
Making the Gravy:
In a pan, add butter till melted. Saute the onion for 2 minutes. Add mushrooms and saute for another 2 minutes. Add beef broth. Let it boil. Meanwhile, in a cup, add flour and cornstarch. Stir in the 1/4 cup of water. Mix well to make a slurry. Once the pan boils, add the flour slurry. Mix well constantly. Make sure no lumps. Continue stirring until the gravy thickens for about 2-3 minutes. Ready to serve. Pour on top of your burger steak. Enjoy! Serve with serve or steamed veggies.
