Cheesy Beef Sandwich on Pretzel Bun with Sautéed Peppers and Onions
Ingredients:
For the Sandwich:
1 lb thinly sliced seasoned beef (such as ribeye or sirloin)
1 tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 large pretzel bun, sliced
1/2 cup sautéed bell peppers (red, yellow, or green), thinly sliced
1/2 cup sautéed onions, thinly sliced
1 tbsp butter (for toasting buns)
Instructions:
Prepare the Beef:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Season the beef with salt and pepper and cook for 3–4 minutes, or until browned and cooked through. Set aside.
Sauté Peppers and Onions:
In the same skillet, add a little more oil if needed and sauté the peppers and onions until softened and caramelized, about 6–7 minutes. Remove from heat.
Toast the Pretzel Bun:
Spread butter on the inside of the pretzel bun.
Toast the bun, buttered side down, on a skillet over medium heat until golden brown and crispy.
Assemble the Sandwich:
Place a generous portion of seasoned beef on the bottom half of the toasted pretzel bun.
Top with sautéed peppers and onions.
Sprinkle both cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top, allowing the cheese to melt from the heat of the beef and peppers.
Serve:
Place the top half of the pretzel bun on top, pressing lightly to hold the sandwich together.
Serve on a patterned plate, showcasing the melting cheese and savory beef filling. Enjoy immediately for the best texture and flavor.
